Deciding right - a new north east initiative for making care decisions in advance
Deciding right is a north east wide initiative - the first in the UK - to integrate the principles of making advance care decisions for all ages. It brings together advance care planning, the Mental Capacity Act, cardiopulmonary resuscitation decisions and emergency healthcare plans.


Confident care workers benefit patients
Annaliza Kemp, Head of Care at the BUPA Inglewood Nursing Home, Redcar (who are working towards Gold Standards Framework accreditation), has observed that care workers and nurses have a newfound confidence when it comes to dealing with end of life care – and she puts that down to the Tees Valley Alliance End of Life training courses.

Dementia course success
Success breeds success – it’s official! The dementia awareness courses, endorsed by the Tees Valley Alliance and funded by the Tees Workforce Collaborative, have been so much in demand that another five courses are being organised next year.
